Autumnal Hot Chocolate Shots

So it's that time of year again, the nights are drawing in, the temperature is starting to drop and leaves are changing, Autumn is finally here.

With this seasonal change I decided to share with you one of my favorite recipes 'Hot Chocolate Shots'. These beauties are quick to make and just as quick to drink, perfect for a swift pick me up. Add a little baileys or orange liquor and you've got yourself a perfectly delicious autumnal alcoholic beverage too!

What You'll Need:
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup chocolate ice cream
1 square unsweetened baking chocolate
2 1/2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon orange extract

Method
Melt together sugar, butter, vanilla or chocolate ice cream and baking chocolate in a saucepan until smooth. Next stir in the water and orange flavors. Heat on medium until steaming. Serve with whipped cream and a sprinkle of orange zest and grated chocolate in chocolate-dipped shot glasses.

To coat the edges of your shot glass simply heat 1/4 cup of choc chips in a microwaveable bowl until melted, be careful not to over heat these. Dip the edges of each shot glass into the melted chocolate. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden before pouring hot cocoa into the glasses.

Enjoy!
