How To Smash That Job Interview
"Life is not a dress rehearsal. The curtain is up and you are on, so get out there and give it your best shot."
Here's a couple of interview questions that interviewers may ask;
Top 5 Questions To Be Prepared For
- Tell me something about yourself?
- What do you know about the company?
- What do you know about the position you are applying for?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Why should we hire you?
If you can get these questions nailed you've got the basis of a good interview down.
Tips For Answering Questions
- Maintain eye contact but don't stare
- Avoid saying fillers such as 'um', 'basically', 'actually' & 'so'
- Smile :D
- Be conscientious and professional
- Tell stories. Always site examples from your previous work experiences
Outfit Ideas
Get the perfect accessories for that interview. A watch is always essential for being on time for the day, take this New Look watch with a beautiful silver face and lovely grey strap perfect for the autumn season. (£12.99)
Now it's common knowledge that a suit is essential for an interview, but for a woman there are so many choices! Do you wear that pencil skirt or do you opt for trousers? Then comes the choice of tops and blouses... with this in mind here's my idea of a basic interview ensemble.
Blouse- Cute white shirt with black piped detail, buttoned up to the top and tucked into trousers it's a perfect work shirt.
(Matalan £12)
Trousers- Grey trouser suit (blazer included), perfect for someone with blonde or light coloured hair and just that little bit different than plain black.

Shoes- Simple black kitten heeled shoes to give that little bit of sophistication, just make sure you can walk in them!
(Matalan £10-£12 last years)
Belt- A thin belt with gold buckle to finish off the outfit and bring it all together.
(Matalan £5 came in a 3 pack)
Have you got any tips that have got you through interviews? Any style advice which has helped you feel more confident?
Until next time...
